I think I'm going to post this link at [livejournal.com profile] surprise_inside also. Haven't been there in months.

Edit: While I'm posting links, I'll add this one to an article with the oddest tone... Caring for Your Introvert. We are *so* the wrong audience for it.

i've been fond of the tone of that one ever since the first time i read it.

We are *so* the wrong audience for it.

i just followed the link to make sure it was the article i thought it was. who was it who said "in America, even the introverts are extraverted"?

Don't confuse "extrovert" with "obnoxious and rude". {smiles} I think it's funny how an article from March of '03 is still getting passed around. I got that link off of my extended f'list this afternoon.

But have you gotten anyone to stop asking "What's the matter?" & "Are you all right?" Those questions filled my childhood until I learned to hold a lighter expression on my face while daydreaming lost in thought.

my lost in thought facial expressions seem to translate more often as "grrr! argh!" than "woe is me!" - if i can keep the outies scared enough, they leave me alone :-)

When you're an old man, you can carry a knobbly stick, too. Maybe you can wear a deep hood, so that your scowl is more terrifyingly shadowed.

i'd happily wear a deep hood - any ideas where i could get one, or whom i might ask to make me one?

i sha'n't comment, on the other hand, on the kobbliness of my stick. ;-)

A wizard's staff has got a knob on the end, knob on the end, knob on the end...

...'tis big and round, and weighs five to the pound
