Ask early on, take notes, and remember.

Red Dress party last night, and it when well. The sonnet that I wrote for the Valentine exchange is this one; I think it came out quite well. I was snagging on Shakespearean, so yesterday afternoon I looked around for some alternative to blank verse and found the French sonnet form, which has a 10 syllable meter and a very sexy rhyme scheme.

Writing something to a nebulous "someone" doesn't work very well, so I asked from some help from my current muse. Such a torrid little poem. Now I must tuck away a couple more, even if they are a touch outdated and not really finished.

And I met [livejournal.com profile] brother_che, [livejournal.com profile] peterpendragon, and [livejournal.com profile] hakinimomma at last. I am only barely able to keep from adding them to my recently cropped friends list.

Going back to [livejournal.com profile] scarletbronte's in a few hours to do some (Writer's Weekend) minionly things, and to certainly gossip as only girls can do.

Oh, I *meant* to discuss the form -- but I guess I was still sleepy, oops. This is the link to a lovely site with lovely information: Sonnets (http://www.thepoetsgarret.com/sonnet1.html)

Also... I'm going to get those pictures from last night from our grand hostess -- okay if I put them up?
