The shovel is in the mail

As it turns out, the 3.5 floppy was so popular that USB floppy drives can be purchased anywhere online. I have on one the way! (From Staples, so it didn't cost me any real money.)

About ten years ago, I typed up all the bits of poetry and prose that I had in notebooks, going back all the way to the oldest thing that I had saved and carried with me. I saved them all on floppies. Somewhere on one of them there has to be the missing sonnet that started up all this digging. I really hope that I saved them rtf and not wps. I think that I did. The wps files that I came across all looked like copies. I guess I should run them through one of the file type converters just in case.

Natter natter. I did a tiny amount of writing today (so far) and I took the silk shirt out of the black dye bath. Tomorrow I'll put it through serious washing to see how much of the dye is staying in the fabric.

For the next three weeks, I will be making public (unlocked) posts as much as possible, originating on DW, for Three Weeks for DW.

I look forward to your posts and perhaps hearing how the shirt came out.

Old stuff on floppies. I'm grateful that I can't look at all the stuff I wrote and saved on floppies. But it's cool to know I could.

There is a certain mercy in things being lost to time, it's true.

You would have better luck if it was on cassette tape.
