Swooning still from the sexy ennui

Only Lovers Left Alive is pretty much a movie made especially for me. It's a slow and sexy vampire film without the bloody horror the genre. Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston are subtle and gorgeous and 99% of the film. TH's character is suicidal, artistic, and cerebral. TS's character is aristocratic, bohemian, and celebrates her life. They have a love of centuries that still crackles.

Tilda Swinton! I'm an even bigger fan now.

I feel the same delighted excitement I felt after Let the Right One In, because movies like these treat the vampire concept the way I want to see it.

I'm hugely thankful about being able to see this film. It had a limited release in L.A. & NY on my birthday; I was hoping that SIFF would bring it to Seattle.

Ooh I didn't know about this movie! Been in love with Tilda since I saw Orlando at age fifteen... Rather difficult crush to explain to peer group at the time.
