It's not even 9:30AM yet, and I have
washed & dried laundry
talked to the building manager about the coin feed on the dryer
read my f'list
gone through my email
showered & dressed
gone for a walk
interacted with human beings
drank a mocha
exchanged some kukicha green tea for a Darjeeling that I will drink.
Go me.
I still need to pick up my holds (2 books! Yay!) from the library, marinate/prep the chicken in the fridge, feed some words to a plot bunny, take some things over to West Seattle, wash some afgans (part of my dumpster diving haul from a few weeks ago) so that I can donate them, visit with L... and remember what else I wanted to do today.
Speaking of dumpster diving: I used to be a little unsure about doing it, but too often, the things tossed out by tenants of the apartment complex that shares dumpsters with us at work have not been trash. I don't know what is wrong with these people. We haul things out and take whatever we don't want to Goodwill. A couple of weeks ago, it was several bags of trendoid designer clothes, two dozen belts, a broken X-Box, a large wooden jewelry case, towels, etc. Two days ago, I brought home a never-used cutting board. It looks like this one: $200.
I'm glad I was up to see the golden morning sky that has since gone impending-rain gray.

I try to be a conscious consumer. And honestly, who doesn't have a friend or colleague who would be thrilled to get a monster cutting board like that? Why on EARTH would someone just throw it away?
