Redwood City - walked - Caltrain - San Jose - HY17 bus over the mountains (VTA) - Santa Cruz. lather, rinse Repeat in reverse, except that we got on a bullet Caltrain (limited stops), got off at Palo Alto, got on a regular train to RWC.
Best thing at the Santa Cruz farmers market: sprouted lentils. D preferred the sprouted peanuts. We drank horchata, and brought home collard greens, variegated lemons, ugly carrots, walnuts, and comic books. Next time, we won't eat a huge Indian buffet lunch. (I would give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. There was good variety. Win: lamb curry, papadums, saag paneer, gulab jamun, and keer. The rice and the naan were fail, but it was 1pm already.)
Miss you.

Date: 2008-06-08 10:59 pm (UTC)I was going to answer sooner with fuller musings about rice pudding in its variations... but, the keer was, well, bastardardized with the syrup of the gulab jamun. I'm not sure what constitutes keer at its best.
