Have a mentioned that tomorrow is my birthday? Tomorrow, as in 1 DAY LEFT. Elevenish hours, really.
I was feeling Eeyoreness yesterday over the forgotten payment, and not wanting to let the gloom continue over such a little thing, I walked to downtown, dawdling at some window shopping on the way. By the time I got home, I was tremendously hungry, but I managed to buy a reasonable amount of groceries that would become dinner. L arrived at the front door just as I did.
She carried the ginormous box from Crate & Barrel upstairs. The salon ladies were kind enough to sign for it, otherwise I don't know what I would have done about it. Huge. Each glass was carefully wrapped in expandy paper padding, nested in air pocket packing stuff.
And Uncle Sam paid me back the money he was holding. Hurrah! Normally I have returns directly deposited to my bank, but I've been Madam Disorganized and then I didn't want to delay filing by even one more day. I haven't seen a paper Treasury check in over a decade. So as it turned out, that was kind of nifty. Knowing that my summer trip is covered (at least, for travel & room) is nifty, too.
And after all, I don't have a late fee to pay, thanks to smart tipper
shellyinseattle. (See comments last post.) The customer service rep had a pretty voice and a musical Indian accent.
Tomorrow is the release party for our state quarter. There's a thing going on in Fisher Square during the day.
Plus it's, y'know, my birthday. In case I forgot to mention it.
