butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (Tigers in a Tub)

I'm confused (not really)

I renewed my driver's license this morning. I updated my address... .

...and my weight. I can't remember if, eight years ago, I put my weight at 175 as a joke, or because I figured that's what someone might guess it was, or because I really didn't know. I was more fit at the time than now, due to going for hours-long hikes almost daily, despite living on "un-cheese sandwiches" (you don't want to know) and Barque's root beer. Four years ago, I guess I just left it at 175.

I'm nowhere near 175. I was 169-176 at age 17, then I moved out, lost fat and put on muscle, and was around 190 if I remember right. I am now, as of the last time I was at the doctor's three weeks ago, 217 in clothes. I just bought a size 14 denim skirt. I'm pretty sure that I weight more now than last August, but I am fitting into smaller clothing sizes. I'm giving the numbers because it's something I can be "out" about, and because I'm so off the graph. I wish there was a graph for me, so I could have some kind of realistic comparison chart.

I *so* hear you about being off the graph. You must be very muscled to wear a 14 at 217. I've heard the "average" woman is a 12 and around 145, so...wow. Just out of curiosity, are you a heavy-weights lifter?

Do you remember what I looked like last June when we had the PCG lunch at the Indian place in Bellvue? I'm just a little smaller now. Lots of muscle on my legs... and barista work built up my shoulders and arms some... but I honestly think it's my bone mass. I've never broken anything.

we should find a local event with someone doing guess your weight. i got to the point where i didn't bother unless i liked the prizes, since i always win. (i weigh much more than people think i do.)

I get the same thing when people have to guess my age. :/

I just floored someone by telling her I'm turning 35.

Occasionally, guys will try to show off and pick me up. I worry about their backs.

yeah. sometimes i get frustrated about being unable to do side plank in yoga class without modifying. and then i realize that those skinny little girls who *can* do it could never hold up 200+ lbs on one arm. (i will. it's just a matter of practice.)

But I have to admit, I recently discovered an unplanned benefit to being a little slimmer. *ahem* I should take up yoga again. There's a studio almost next door.

Hell, I'm still psyched to wear size 14 clothes and I'm at 174.5 this week. Clothing size/weight comparisons are pretty darn meaningless.

People always are floored when they find out my weight. I blame it on having a large frame, heavy bones and tons of muscle. Can never figure out how much weight I've lost, so have to measure it in sizes too.

One thing

That I tell everybody is that it's not the pounds, its the inches that should reduce on a regular basis. I'm to the point now where if I lose any more of either, I will not be able to wear any variety of "off the rack" pants. Although shirts fit me just fine.

Not to bang the drum, but I'm willing to share my now more-or-less irrelevant meal planner with anyone that would care to try a customized menu. It does work, if you let it.
