How badly did I want that coffee?

I'm wearing a cream colored shirt with long, draping sleeves. I knew that the ground coffee was on the older side because I remember when it was purchased: in the distant past. The coffe maker was filthy. The coffee pot was crusted on the bottom with residue. No cream or sugar, but black is fine with me.
But today is Monday, with a Monday level of suckage. A cup of coffee is equivalent to that worn out teddy bear with one eye missing that used to make everything okay.
Between the tasks of a busy morning, I got the coffee maker cleaned up, I ran a clean water batch, and I made that pot of coffee.
OMG, it was horrible. Not as bad as diner coffee in Connecticut, but awful in a different way. If I were a better person, thinking of that comparison would not remind me of a certain ex-bf, and *that* would get me all annoyed again about what he said to me last week. Un-freaking-believable. What really bugged me was how he tried to get a barb in, in his reply to my reply. I swear, if I had his girlfriend's phone number... .
I'm trying not to run out for coffee on a lunch break, because I'm already going to be dawdling downtown after work so that I don't get stuck in the war rally produced traffic. But I've just remembered that Nielsen's closes early on Mondays, and wow, a cream filled, marzipan covered, chocolate dusted good-thing sounds perfect *right now*.
With a decent cuppa.
And in other news: SEAF made my weekend. I got L to go with me, even though I was set to go by myself happily. My favorites were the pirates done by Kiriko Moth, the salt shakers, an awesome photograph that didn't have a print or take-home image for sale, and the photos of cowboys in shibari-style bondage.
