When I left work today I hadn't planned on walking into downtown, as I sometimes do instead of waiting for a bus, but there was a crunchy mess in the intersection through which ALL the routes leaving Queen Anne need to go. A police car and two civilian vehicles were involved. There was yellow tape everywhere and a camera crew filming.

The exodus from downtown was worse than usual. The combination of the weather and the football game slowed traffic down so much that I walked past a couple of homeward bound buses and caught up to the fastest of them at the front of the line. That bus arrived at the West Seattle Junction late enough to look like the next bus, four minutes early.

I hope that all you locals have gotten home safely and without too much delay.

As the flurries started when I was a block from home, post-dinner, I considered all the people whose shelter and food needs will not be met on this harsh night. Please take a moment to think of them. Wish them well, wish them luck, or do whatever is appropriate to your spiritual orientation.
