At the library, they keyboards click. It sounds creepy when half a dozen people are typing. It could be the foley for scorpion armies.

Now I will pick up my holds and trot home.

I always preferred the clicky keyboards. I understand that they were just a weaning step for those of us who started on typewriters but there was something satisfying about the feel and sound of the click.

Now, in a world with cubicles, they're an artifact.

It's much better to think of the sound as typewriters in a secretarial pool or something like. Girls in tight-waisted dresses, typing away on secret documents in a basement, doing their part in the spy business...

Maybe one day, the blipping and bleeping of office machinery (not just the computers) will also be a thing of the past.
