1. ...respond with something random about you.
2. ...challenge you to try something.
3. ...pick a color that I associate with you.
4. ...tell you something I like about you.
5. ...tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. ...tell you of what animal you remind me.
7. ...ask you something I've always wanted to ask you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours

I'm tired. I have no chocolate (horror!) to combat the afternoon caffeine desire. I am hoping that there will be mail so that I can take a short walk outside to the mailbox.

Too often, the highlight of my day is food in some way. I need to start taking more baths. Soaking would probably be more beneficial that the equivalent time in sleep.

2. Think of your most needlessly over-used word (such as "should"). Try not to say/write it for an entire day.
3. red-violet, as in a purple with a lot of red in it
4. You're pretty. [I opted for the shallow choice. ^_^]
5. You asked for a latte. I thought it was another forwarded request, this one for [livejournal.com profile] alg, so I gave you one with cinnamon. I don't know if you liked it, but you did drink it.

1. I often envy your icons.
2. Pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time.
3. Well, amber. But not the really light yellowish color. I think of the medium-dark range that is more in the sunset-orange hues.
4. When you're cheerful, I don't find it at all annoying, only contagious.
5. I know we had met a few times before, but my clearest memory is of going to the TMGB in-store at the QA Easy Street.
6. Maybe... a bunny. Something cute and fuzzy and mammalian or marsupial that has a lot of energy. I'm not sure if we have them on this planet. ;)
7. Did your username come from a play on "shabby chic"?

Head patted, tummy rubbed. For some reason that engendered a deep desire for tasty scones. I think it's because my Adagio tea order just came in and scones and tea are happy together!!!

To answer number 7: My name has a somewhat historic but pretty boring start. I was on a local bbs when I was 12 years old or so and I needed a handle. My first one was "flashlight", which is where the old term "Flaslight Holder Peering Over" comes from.

Since it was a local BBS, we'd have meetups now and again. I was perpetually being introduced as "This is Amber, or Flashlight. You know, the spazzy chick."... My spazzyness at the time was more of the annoying sort so I can imagine where such a reputation would spawn.

Anyway, about 14 or so the BBS I was on died a horrible phone bill death and a new one sprang up. I then used the handle "Spazzychic". While at the time I was still VERY tomboy like and as far from "chic" as I could be, I appreciated the irony. :)

The name ended up on LJ because when I started the journal I felt a lot like the confused, depressive and lost 12 year old I was, but I remembered even though life was pretty crappy at the time, I still managed to have some great friends met through an online community. Thus, the name came here. :)

So cool! Thank you, sweetness!

Hmm, I've never done anything exciting in the backseat of a car (other than smooching)! I can't recall that conversation!

And I cannot get into most westerns or "inspirational" or most mainstream romances. I like sex in my romances, or at least sexual tension. Larry McMurty is an exception as I did love Lonesome Dove.

Movies? Westerns and horribly slapstick comedy (I like my comedy dark and dripping with sarcasm, shock!)

2- Characters. While the whole epic aspect may signify the plot is what should be important, X's strenght is its characters. Also... it's like a car crash. They are all DOOMED. Sorata is doomed and he is fine with it, so he is extremely likeable. Subaru is doomed, but yet he is extremely interesting to watch because he is a person who knows he wants something and at the same time hates himself for wanting it. Also, I like it because it's not a happy story, it's more like a study on destiny and how those caught in fate react.

7- Ahahahahaha! Ever since I added that to my interests I've been waiting for someone to ask about it. I'll explain: I'm a fan of adventure games and one of my favorites is the Monkey Island series. The protagonist always tries to escape by claiming "Look! There's a three headed monkey behind you!". At one point of the game he gets ignored and a three-headed-monkey does show up... that should give you a hint of the fantastic Pirates-of-the-Caribbean inspired crack the games are. My whole family loves those games and my brother and me often use lines from the game as an in-joke.

:) *purr* Happy things!

1. Thank you!

2. What would tempt you? I *tried* to get the girly thing to happen, but we were foiled by the scheduling demands of SIFF and Princess Cruises. Darn it!

3. It's the Burton "family color". . . if we had modern-day coats of arms, that would be in it. We're just magnetically drawn to it. One time my parents and I went to go visit my grandmother, and sometime in the course of the visit she pointed out that all of us, her included, were wearing a shirt in some variation of it. We hadn't realized it. Once we stopped to think about it, though, we pulled her over to the window to look at our new car parked in the driveway. Yes, it was that color.

It has been REALLY hard not having that color in the wedding - but as [livejournal.com profile] samildanach points out, it does nothing for him, and it's not really in harmony with a fall wedding, or our venue. The website (open soon) is in that spectrum, though - we bought a template and that was the one that looked best on its own, despite the fact it doesn't match anything else (but it sure is purty!).

Have you ever looked at my lj in its native color scheme, btw?

4. Thank you!

. . .

6. Yay! Not that the association was made by any form of suggestion on my part, though, I'm sure. . .

7. Yes, I would be delighted, but give me a couple weeks - I just had a tooth pulled today, and I'm getting brackets and wires for braces installed Tuesday. :P
