Steak and Bad Joke Day/Pi Day

March 14th. Not only is this Pi Day, but depending on who you talk to, it's the reactionary-to-Valentine's-Day holiday called Steak and, um... well, Steak Day.
So let's make a date of it, hey?
Here are the possibilities:
We can find steak at Jak's Grill, in my part of the city. Jak's isn't too expensive for a steak place, and has a great reputation. The drawback is that it's not the most suitable to our typical group size; we might have to be at 2 adjacent tables.
We can get pie, if they are open late enough (not very likely) or if someone wants to host a pie eating venue at home, from Alki Bakery. I couldn't find a restaurant that serves pie worth making a special trip for. Alki Bakery's pies, however, are the best local pies that come to mind. Or we could have pizza pie and forget about steak.
As a third option, Casuelita's certainly has some kind of steak on the menu. How pi figures into that I don't know, but we can try to find out.
EDIT: Pies and Pints, for savory pie, is a good suggestion. This is a full restaurant, unlike Australian Pie Co., which I love, but didn't suggest because they lack any frills.
Thoughts?

Houses of Parliament Sauce (http://www.hpfoods.com/brands/hpsauce/) made by the same folks as Lea&Perrins (also yummy!)

Date: 2006-02-26 04:57 am (UTC)i'm assuming they do OZ-style savoury pies? if those are somewhat similar to NZ-style savoury pies, i could be interested in stopping in sometime a couple of months hence...
