I'm already starting to dig the Nook Simple Touch that I "bought" this morning. I bought it with coupons; it didn't cost me anything out of pocket. Yes, free!

Besides that, I have started to like it even just after initial set up. It won't be fully charged for another hour yet, so I have not uploaded a book or done any reading on it. It looks like Lois McMaster Bujold might be first on, since a disk of her books -- that came with a recent hardcover -- is close at hand.

Any hints and tips from you Nook users are welcome!

Not Nook specific, since I have a kindle instead, but Project Gutenberg offers a pile of free stuff in appropriate formats. :)

Library ebooks! Instant--and free--gratification, and they automatically expire when your lending period is up, so you can never forget to return one and get overdue fines. When I got mine, the Kindle wasn't compatible with the SPL, so the Nook was an easy decision. Kinda wish I was into romance novels, 'cause the SPL seems to have a ton of 'em as ebooks. And if you're gonna read trashy novels, disguising the fact with an ereader's the way to go. ;)

There are a lot of "freebies" out there as well...check out this thread:
