butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (Four Sleepers)

Windy, Rainy, Cold

I'm trying to remember being too hot. Too hot to sleep, all clothing too hot, running for shade.

If I think about it for a while, even while looking at the steady fall of rain outside the window (so distracting... how can I keep my mind looking busy), I can get back the sting of hot sand under my feet, sand so hot that you feel afraid that if you stand still you'll get burned. More difficult to retrieve is the sense of desert air pulling every molecule of moisture even out of my breath.

Feeling baked by the air.

The interior of a car that has been parked in the sun with the windows up.

The relief of a cold glass against hot skin.

What makes you hot?

Images of Heat

Sitting outside in the sun, reading, with a glass of iced tea, until the sun on my shoulders is so hot that I'm sure I'll be burned by it (and often am).

Touching my hair and having it be hot to the touch...

That heavy droplet of condensation trailing down the side of the glass.

Having touched your hair, I can imagine it sun warmed.
