Windy, Rainy, Cold
I'm trying to remember being too hot. Too hot to sleep, all clothing too hot, running for shade.
If I think about it for a while, even while looking at the steady fall of rain outside the window (so distracting... how can I keep my mind looking busy), I can get back the sting of hot sand under my feet, sand so hot that you feel afraid that if you stand still you'll get burned. More difficult to retrieve is the sense of desert air pulling every molecule of moisture even out of my breath.
Feeling baked by the air.
The interior of a car that has been parked in the sun with the windows up.
The relief of a cold glass against hot skin.
What makes you hot?

Hot enough for ya?
Sitting in a car with the windows up on a very sunny day, dust billowing from the slipping tires on the gravel road, the air hot and still, the windows staying closed so the hot and dry road dust won't seep into the car, seep into lungs, seep into skin
Hair piled high, small tendrils of hair damp sticking to the nape, damp from the sweat trickling down the back of the neck, down the chest, down the stomach, clothes stuck to skin, the stale air thick and wet hanging on to lips and nose

Images of Heat
Touching my hair and having it be hot to the touch...
