Rum, Sake, Meme

Sushi Wednesday #4 (for real this time) is on December 28th at 7pm, that's this Wednesday, at Wasabi. I'm not going to make reservations this time; show up at 2nd & Bell in Belltown and we'll see what happens.
amheriksha can use a ride home if anyone can offer one.
Some of us are going to meet up before dinner at Casuelita's , something that seems to be becoming a tradition. (No complaints here.) Meet-up is whenever people get there, somewhere around 5:30 seemed to be the concensus, early = happy hour. (Around 6 for me.) That's on Western & Vine (?), a shortwalk stumble to Wasabi.
I have used my creativity elsewhere today, so all I can offer you now is a meme full of answers I've given before.
Four jobs you've had in your life:
I'll skip barista, since y'all know that, so: store clerk, sales (jewelry store), waitress, and the frozen yogurt girl who served both Shatner & Nemoy, on separate occasions.
Four movies you could watch over and over: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Edward Scissorhands, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Rainmaker [the one with Katherine Hepburn & Burt Lancaster, not the Grisham.]
Four places you've lived: Silverlake, Glendale, Santa Monica, & Oxnard (CA). You can also read that as: the house I was born in, the house we moved to, the tiny apartment that I loved, the crappy apartment warren when I was engaged & co-habitating.
Four TV shows you love to watch: I stopped watching TV at home after the cancellation of Firefly. At my sister's house on holidays we often watch American Eats, which is that history-of-pop-culture-food show. Except for X-files and Twin Peaks, I can't think of anything else right now.
Four places you've been on vacation: Baja California (we used to do that a lot), Hawaii (Maui & Kauai, separate trips), Tucson AZ, Arches National Park in Utah ("Don't Bust the Crust!")
Four websites you visit daily:
Daily? LJ. And Mon-Fri, the lender sites for Flagstar Bank, Wells Fargo, Greenpointe, Mortgageit... .
Four places you'd rather be:
You got me thinking about Hawaii, thanks a lot.
With friends. In bed. (and/or)
Here and now, because "if wishes were horses, we'd be eatin' steak".
Four of your favorite foods:
Those sesame balls served at dim sum; french fries; anything cooked on a barbeque or over fire, especially if it's on a stick.
Chocolate is not a food, it's a vocation.
I need a sushi icon.

Date: 2005-12-28 07:50 pm (UTC)Have you been there personally before? I haven't, and the reviews say it's more of a "club" than a "sushi place" and they don't do much raw fish, instead doing the meat-and-mayo-and-seaweed thing with a lot of entrees...
Also, any idea what a meal is there on average?

Date: 2005-12-28 08:05 pm (UTC)I asked Steve about it, since he'd been there before. He says they do the $ amt thing, but it comes out to less sushi than menu price. He said it's good stuff, but expect to pay 1.5x what you'd pay most everywhere else. O.O They do nigri by the piece instead of by the pair, but still at $2-$2,50.
As one who may not have a regular income in the near future, I admit I'm somewhat nervous. The company means I'm still going, even if it's a pizza kitchen in hell, but I'm nervous.
