For those of you who've never seen me pour, here is some latte art. I can do ferns, hearts, and a few other designs that Natalie doesn't show. I miss it. I'm afraid I'm going to lose my barista skills. And speaking of skills...
Chocolate and Sex I smiled at this quotation: "Some might argue, however, that women who like chocolate are simply more sensually attuned."
The picture of the woman wearing nothing but a body stocking covered in chocolate sauce is also amusing.

1. Your interest in mycology - is that due to a thirst for knowledge, or a taste for mushrooms?
Both! And mushrooms are pretty. Even the oogy jelly antler ones. Since attending the mycology show last fall, I have been more aware of the toadstools that grow here in the Seattle area and their delightful variety of shape and color.
2. Your favorite sculpting medium and why.
I've done a lot in polymer clay (because it is an easy store/finish medium) but what I love most is paper. I've made paper -- from other paper, usually junk mail -- and I have cut it, folded it, decoupaged, mache'd, stamped on it... paper is amazing. It can be torn, spun, layered... mixed with various glues or agents... it is very versitile. I have such a fetish for it. I collect stationary and I love to write by hand, too. Additionally, it burns; if there is one thing that rivals my unnatural friendliness toward paper, it is my pyrophilia.
3. Not many people I know drink white tea - where did you first experience it?
My first white tea was a Trader Joe's tea bag. Eek!
I started drinking white tea because I was confused. There is a fictional woman that I am fond of (fanfic!) who I mistakenly thought liked white tea. (It's actually red tea that she favors.) White is her favorite "color"; the whole white thing suites her character. So I wanted to know what white tea was like. At first, I didn't think it tasted like anything, but later I still found myself wanting it. I moved on to a lovely loose-leaf white called Snow Dragon. It brews almost without tinting the water at all, but when poured, the liquid sparkles like crystal, literally. The tea changes the refractive index of the water. As a gemologist, I saw that and felt, as Edna St. Vincent Millay would say, waylaid by beauty.
I still can't describe the taste of white tea. It tastes... like magic.
4. Your favorite store (real world or online) for costume jewelry, and why?
Trifari makes some pretty pieces. The things that I find in dusty thrift stores, however, are the best. The rhinestones that were made pre-1970 are shinier than anything more modern. Bakelite is cool.

We met at a party last September and we run in the same crowds, sort of. Now we *are* the "crowd".
