butterflydreamingWith the furniture shuffling and Christmas shopping, I didn't get any writing in today, and I feel the loss of it.
However,coffeedaiv and I ended up discussing at length how ST Voyager (dang, that really lasted 7 seasons?!) failed for each of us, and things we would have done with character development and story. Neither of us watched much past the introduction of Seven of Nine, if that much, though we didn't stop watching because of her. We like Jeri. For one thing, if Janeway had James Tiberius Kirk's confidence matched up with a by-the-book idealistic patriotism, I think that would have made a more interesting Federation captain.
We ended up with a space opera that bore little resemblance to STV. With the ST-verse serial numbers filed off, I think this might be my next writing project. Such a straight forward story will be refreshing! Aliens! Adventure! Bad science! And I'll take that bet as the way a character says I love you to her (Vulcan-like) statistic-quoting sweetheart.
