Belltown Traffic

The Clumsy Lovers tuckered me out last night, and I only was able to stay for the first half of their show. I started falling asleep on the bus as it lumbered through strangely heavy traffic in Belltown.

I've got that cuddle-up and be lazy feeling today, but I'm also 92.587% happy -- quite a higher percentage than I've been of late. I have to contemplate why before I could tell you, but consider [livejournal.com profile] ironymaiden and her husband C as factors.

I've also been craving fried chicken for three days. Other than the Alki Homestead and Endolyne Joe's, is there any good chicken in Seattle? How about in other cities/countries? Tell me about you're favorite greasy food place!

Meanwhile... I could play this guessing game all day! (But I won't. Honestly.) I only did 2 sets of 10. I did well.

The Clumsy Lovers and Andrea Lewis (on fiddle/violin) play during TV breaks at the hockey games here; I saw them on Wednesday night!

Glad you're feelin' happy. *hugs*

Andrea is a regular member of the band; we could tell from the patter last night that they were ready to spend some more time at home. i'm not sure i like the blond thing. some part of me is saddened by brunettes completely bleaching out their hair.

She is? She must be the queen bee then, because they're always introduced as "the Clumsy Lovers featuring Andrea Lewis". :-)

Honestly, I haven't clapped eyes on her since last hockey season (which was 18 months ago at least), so I didn't even notice the change in her hair colour.

She must be the queen bee then hee. she is married to the big bassist who writes most of the songs.

There's a bassist? We've only ever seen her with a drummer and a guitarist (must be the guitarist, then?). :-)

Y'know, I'm going to have to start finding some dislikeable Canadians, because the band was absolutely charming.

*points to Ottawa*
The unlikeable ones? They're in Ontario. :-)
(Not that there's a longstanding Ontario/BC rivalry, no!)

Chicken picks

I love the Clumsy Lovers. It sounds like it was a great show.

In Seattle, my two favorites for fried chicken are Ezell's (http://www.ezellschicken.com/) and the Kingfish cafe (http://seattle.citysearch.com/review/10789973). Ezell's is funkier and cheaper, but I've had good meals at the Kingfish and they have great crabcakes too. On the dessert front, Ezell's has killer sweet potato pie and Kingfish has a chocolate velvet cake to die for.

Oh, Kingfish! I've heard of this place so many times, and yet I keep forgetting to go there. {makes a note} Sadly, the Ezell's in White Center closed up before I ever had any, and the next closest isn't very close.

Perhaps we should organize a ladies' fried chicken night like the sushi dinner of a couple of months back? We could do either place tho' Kingfish is more a sit-down place, has alcohol and food for vegetarians if needed.

I love that idea!

A tour of Indian restaurants has also come up as a potential thing recently, too. One of my friends ([livejournal.com profile] buhrger) in Canada does a "curry crawl" with his group, and I was proposing a Seattle Curry Crawl to [livejournal.com profile] ironymaiden. Like Indian?

And while I'm thinking of it, I was hoping that friendly faces would be interested in gathering at the next 1st Thursday Artwalk, because SAM is doing a Day of the Dead festival that day. Would you be interested?

I'd love to join you for both the curry crawl and the Day of the Dead at SAM. Keep me posted!
