Reluctance

I've been getting to bed late most nights for the past week. Nothing amazing need be going on. I'm just reluctant to go to sleep, even when tired. I'll dawdle online; I'll get into bed but read for another hour. Right now, I'm thinking about making soup for tomorrow... something I meant to do a couple of hours ago when I first got home.

I like the night. It's getting dark in that velvety way, now that we are in autumn.

In the morning, again I will think, "Why didn't I go to sleep sooner?"
