butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (Parsol Girls)
And for this reason, you get an icon of spring and summer. We got some free calendars at work. December's image was fog, trees, and snow. Who wants to look at images of winter in winter? Give me cabana boys, and dark skinned girls in sarongs. Make me think of coconut oil and warm loam and the sensuality of cold umbrella drinks.

I'm dawdling in Belltown to avoid getting caught in football game & bad weather traffic. Elliott Ave was a river half an hour ago; the front entrance of the building was blocked by a moat. The florescent lights flicker every few minutes. Traffic seems to be getting worse, not better. And I'm hungry. What to do... .

It's official. Tomorrow I get keys to a new, bigger place. )

Craftyeve at [livejournal.com profile] ironymaiden's house last night was spiritually fulfilling. I do hope this becomes a regular thing because it's wonderful. It was good to see [livejournal.com profile] shellyinseattle. [livejournal.com profile] scarlettina brought an assortment of really cool beads. [livejournal.com profile] varina8 was also working in beads, but in a very different way. There was quilting and knitting and the shaping of beautiful letters and Tasty Cakes and tea and mini flower-power cookies by Bite Me. (Organic and all natural.) I asked [livejournal.com profile] omnifarious to come fetch me since he now lives in Ballard, and he commented that I was in an upbeat mood.

And this morning I had delicious crumpets at The Crumpet Shop. L & I are both addicted now. I "blame" [livejournal.com profile] joyful_storm, whose mention of TCS prodded me into finally visiting there.

I've run out of thoughts. Oh, wait -- yes.
Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] adventurat!
