One more

The flat screen monitor that I have had since June finally had a complete nervous breakdown. While it would, rarely, cut out and go black for no reason, to return in a few moments, this morning it has been cutting out repeatedly. I had to switch out monitors to the horrid old one that I started with. It's a big, old, bulky monitor and because of the desk I have and how the keyboard is set up, my focal distance is now too short. It was giving me headaches and eye fatigue the first month that I was here. All the other flat screens (that work) are in use.

I feel like crying. I can't walk out over a monitor (I can't walk out at all), but I swear, this is close to the last straw.

Squeaky Wheel

So I called our IT guy to see if there was anything he could do about this monitor. He couldn't see the headache-causing oscillation of light! Are people that used to it? But on the up side, the monitor seems to be working when it's hooked up to a Dell computer instead of the Gateway I'm on. So he says that if it's still being obedient on Monday, we'll just switch out computers. Good news.

I'm still looking forward to sushi tomorrow. That will make sushix2 for this week, since I went to Blue C last night. (Rating for meal: B-. Food was average at best, but the Plumtini was nice. Rating for company: B for better than expected.) Wild Fish on Friday makes my week happy. For dinner, I'm booked with my Papa, a belated birthday meal.

Saturday night will be... sushix3! There is a birthday thing going on at Red Fin. I'm only planning on a drink or two, maybe a bite, but not dinner. At 10, Daylight Basement is playing at the Crocodile, and for $7, I am tempted to go. The CD is good, though "Just Kiss Me" may have the power to get on my nerves with repeated listenings.

Sunday, I would like to sleep, but I might take another offer. I've been out every night this week except tonight (boozey chocolates from Rose's await me). Anyone want to take me out/let me take you out on Sunday? ^_~

Tuesday is Steak & Pi day. I think most of you have other things going on, but if you are available for a steak dinner (no promise of pie, I'm afraid), divinityof_fire & I are going to Jax in W.Seattle for dinner, 8pm. RSVP if you want to join us and/or need directions. You are absolutely welcome.

And that's about as far as I like to plan anything. Except that I might be going to Norwescon this year.

Also, on the subject of food & dining, I must bring your attention to the 25 for $25 deal that I heard about this afternoon.
