butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (mariposa (gift from Wendy B))
[personal profile] butterflydreaming
If you never actually say the words "I love you", you'll never have to want to take them back.

The good things are rising up like soap bubbles, but what makes me sad is a grey lump of metal on an invisible fishing line.

I called Julie to see if I can get a massage appointment tomorrow afternoon, and this evening I had a long, sleepy bath. Lush's "pudd" bath ballistic has the smell of nutmeg and cinnamon (in fact, has spices in it). The shampoo bar I'm using smells like lapsang souchong, with is to say that it smells like an early morning campfire.

I found not only Cowboys are My Weakness (short stories), but a 2nd Pam Houston book (a novel) at Pegasus Books, both for $6. The title story is very good; I'll quote you some of it when I can give you a full review.

Over a shared lemon bar and a shared pecan cookie-thing, I had a good conversation. Much to ruminate on. Entertaining, too.

The trainee at work is learning.

B didn't bug me about not going to the company party. I'd already told him that I wasn't going, but every other year, he's trotted out the annoying, "It was a blast! We missed you" line. (I don't drink with my bosses, thanks.)

And, of course, the dollar amount with a comma that's coming to me in a week or so. And my tax return.

I'm going to borrow from a gal who keeps her chin up, and list 10 (more) things for which I am grateful:

1. Being able to pay my rent without tensing up.
2. New music, all good.
3. It's less than 20 days until Beekeeper comes out.
4. L made dinner.
5. The moon looked like a brilliantly white claw this morning. If I hadn't been heading to work at 6am, I wouldn't have seen it.

6. I don't have to wonder if I'm missing a call from the insurance co. every time I go online.
7. I have clean laundry.
8. The skirt that I'm almost finished sewing looks like a success, even though I was modifying a pattern.
9. Every day, I see a brightly-colored butterfly plush from the Denver Zoo that reminds me of someone's thoughtfulness.

10. I'll probably fall asleep, tonight, as soon as I curl up under my comforter.

And it should go without saying that I'm always grateful for you, my friends.
