What I would really like to do is post one of the two (short) stories that I have not had time to write more than a few pages (handwritten) of. Instead, I will give you the background folklore for the (hopefully) funny one.
There is a legend that on midnight of Christmas Eve, beasts are given the gift of speech.
To praise the birth of Christ.

Date: 2004-12-25 01:09 am (UTC)Humans are particularly loud tonight. It smells like flesh and sea creatures. Strange race, they are, those who live outside the cage.
They opened the trapdoor, I see through a hole on my nest. Ah, what a lovely nut. When they calm down, I'll get out and grab it. I need to gnaw and clean my teeth, they've grown a little. Alas, I'm sleepy.
And they always make such a fuss if they find me out at winter.
