I'm not panicking, it's just the caffeine

A couple more days, and then I'm going to take some communities off my FP. nanowrimo in particular has been giving me feelings of panic, though I cannot pinpoint why. Perhaps it's because I'm taking a "cool and collected" (as opposed to frantic) approach to November.


I've opted for vampire fic... but rather than using a previous idea or character, I'm going to be doing this from scratch. Requires light research. First person narrative, not particularly humorous, but not dark & angsty, either. Will establish a set of Vampire Rules (not necessarily a list I'll use elsewhere). No title yet, but I'll let that happen organically.


For grins and distraction, I'll probably keep thefridayfive.


1. You're the opposite sex. Besides the obvious playing with the new parts, what would you do?
I would really hate to wake up and find myself a guy. I've spent 3 decades learning how to be a chick. And, dammit, then I'd have to go hit on some gay men. Waaaait. Okay, I've changed my mind. I wouldn't mind waking up and finding that I was a guy. (I wonder if Joshua is still single?)

2. You're someone famous. Who and why? Oprah Winfrey. She has lots of money, and gets to be very generous on her show (she gave away cars to the audience recently), and I think that I could do her job.

3. You're the King (Queen) of the World (no, you're not James Cameron). What edict would you pass? I would abolish paper coffee cups. Too bad, bring/use a real cup and deal with it. My edict would include provisions for change in health laws, and for the loss of jobs re-training of workers when the cup factories closed diversified.

4. You're no longer in Kansas (or this world) anymore. Where are you? "It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." Could it be someplace just like this world, only minus racism, sexism, agism, homophobia, and general intolerance?

5. You have a clone standing next to you and it's going to work/school for you while you get to play hooky. What are you going to do today? Call in sick for my clone, so that the two of us can run around town telling everyone that we're twins, and telling each other that we're pretty. I'm so split-personality that it wouldn't be like being with myself.
