Sorry! Some of you are getting 3 updates. Fanfic in Chrysalis Dreams, for the Tsukimine Shrine Challenge (Family):
The Ones You Choose
I was going to put it on ff.net, since I haven't put anything there in a while, but it's going to be read only. If it can't be reviewed, then I might as well wait. I've given up using ff.net as a primary anymore. Really, I'm surprized that no one else has modeled the format, or that there aren't more fanfiction archives, not even ones that are pay-to-archive.
So, I'll use LJ, GJ, MM.org (on occasion), my Desk Drawer, and I'll just link like a mad fiend. I'm not exactly to everybody's tastes, anyway.
But I did get this INCREDIBLE review for "TS" just yesterday. Oh, it was a good one. All reviews and comments are appreciated, but sometimes someone says some things that are ones you want to hear. I am working on chapter 18, and that rather helps.
So for the challenge, I didn't want to do anything that would have nipped off of "Take Comfort" or "My Name Upon You", so I went with that odd time period that isn't used much. Only the longer fics ever address it, and usually in a shonen ai context.
I don't really believe in love-at-first-sight. I think that if you fall in love with someone, it sneaks up on you. Suddenly, it's there, standing right behind you, and when you turn around, you're like -- EEEP! Romantic love that starts as friendship is the best, anyway.
It was weird to write something without Kero or Yue, or Nadeshiko. But funny enough, they're all still there, Clow too , and Yue especially. Just like the shonen ai is still there. I think that this story would be boring without their context. Writing earlier-time for the characters was interesting, too; Touya is a little meaner, less trusting. Yuki is timid, and uncertain of his place. It was interesting.
Oh, and did anyone notice the mention of chocolate-covered strawberries? I couldn't help myself.
What to do now? I can't jump back into fic right away, I don't think... . I'll probably read, if ff.net lets me log in. The prompts, this week, aren't doing anything for me yet.
Okay, well. Bye for now!
The firewall is up, and I think my computer is mostly sorted out. Will see. I'm going to go ahead and say that MacAfee is better than Norton, though. I just bought the update disc for this machine (yes, I'm still on the old machine right now, because the file was on this C drive) a few weeks ago, but since Norton seems to be sorted out on the other, I think I'll leave things as they are. Regarding Word vs. Works -- my brother has had the same issues with file transfer, so at least I was forwarned. Because I've been using LJ, most of my files are in rtf. already.
