Kaiju otaku

butterflydreamingThe Pacific Rim fandom is more active on AO3 than on Fanfiction.net, which is a reversal! Over 300 fics on AO3, versus less than 100 at FF.net. Of those 300+, I swear 95% of them 'ship science nerd love. It's a bit much. Oh, fandom. {sighs}
Neither site lists any kaiju -- the antagonists of Pacific Rim -- by name or generally, as a character! And only one fic on AO3 has "kaiju" as an added tag! (One of the things I like about that archive is the ability to list non-listed characters and non-listed tags. Many fic writers use the option humorously. It adds flavor.)
So, yeah. I'm fully going to finish writing the short one from Otachi's POV. Because, I do love my kaiju. I want to hug every other-dimensional conquering super soldier monster. I want them in a basket, and wearing little bow ties, and on a rainbow, and in my bed, and I just want us to roll around.
