butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (Default)

I am saying that a lot lately. Squeezing things in. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. We'll eat; afterward we'll watch more "Twin Peaks," which is now streaming on Hulu.

This morning, I was waylaid by L. We had lunch at the delicious Bamboo Garden, and I was able to help her out with tech/shopping advice, something I am happy and glad to do. I've still gotten some writing done today. This is what happens when I thumb my nose at laundry.

I could write while watching "Twin Peaks," and D might not even mind overmuch, as long as we are in the same room. But the show is frosted thickly with sweet nostalgia for me. There are parts that I have never seen, because I watched it when in aired on television, and loved it then, but had not watched it since. Inevitably, back in '89/'90, I missed episodes or parts of episodes. Audrey is still my epitome of sexy beauty. Cooper still makes me grin, as does Albert. It's funny to watch it in the context of living in Seattle now. It creates an overlay of me, as an adult now, on top of the memory of me, the little goth girl in her last year of high school.

Plus, the thing I've been writing (to keep my fingers moving and the little grey cells squishy) over the last few days is an old thing that I have been finishing up. I started it in 2004, so talk about nostalgia! Not even my skin is the same skin as it was then. My God, my life feels full. Yet I have so much to catch up with.

I suppose it is good to enter 2013 with a full to-do list. If you want something done, give it to a busy person.
