I don't mind walking when I expect to walk a ways. I do mind when I have a perfectly timed plan fail: waiting for 15 minutes, giving up, having the late bus pass me, stopping to wait for the next one, having that one be just late enough that I think "why not just walk the rest of the way", and having that one pass me when I am within 10 feet of the bus stop. whereswilliam just passed me this potentially-relevant link: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/12/14/magazine/2008_IDEAS.html#b-ideas-5
