Those are my own invention. I would be a little surprised if someone else hadn't come up with a similar concept, but then, as a culture we don't tend to think of joy as a slow thing or something to be "worked through." Happiness is hard! It's easier to stay unhappy/dissatisfied.

The fandom is the (old, now) anime Card Captor Sakura. Do you watch anime? CCS is a landmark "magic girl" series. On the surface, it is a fluffy & cute adventure story. However, as is the case with many of CLAMP's stories, it's full of really messed up things. I love the contrast, which is why it is the only fandom I have felt strongly enough to fanfic with any dedication.
