You can't tell from downtown
As I was on my way home yesterday, it was sn'hailing, a sort of fluffy hail, powdery clusters that segued over into flakes and back again. I was lucky; I think I caught the last W. Seattle bound bus out of downtown that wasn't massively delayed. It got me over the bridge. Except for a Terminal bound bus, no more came out of downtown -- no 22s, 55s, or 54s -- during my 45 minutes waiting for a transfer. (I was waiting for a 128, which runs the north-to-south and get to a hill *after* my stop.)
My neighborhood was full of the fluffy white stuff. It was a pretty powder, but I'm glad it's a rarity here. I don't think I'd like living somewhere where snow came with winter as a continuous thing. People from snow country miss snowfall; I miss the hot, powerful Santa Ana winds.
Downtown Seattle has little to no evidence of the snow's existence. I'm glad that one of the LOs had pictures to back up my story, because KP hadn't seen any snow where she lives, either.
This just in: I'm taking vacation time next week (and will probably get the bulk of moving done during). Since Monday is a (paid) holiday, I'm very tempted to add tomorrow and start early. The workload is looking good for doing that. I should know by the end of the day.
