Here there be biscuits
Mar. 29th, 2015 07:32 pmIf there is one thing I'm quite practiced at, it's biscuits/scones.
I had expired milk, eyeballed along with the flour and assessed at about a batch's worth. I usually don't use butter, and while coconut oil is at least as expensive, it has fewer applications. Plus coconut manna (coconut meat in coconut oil) that I am concerned has been open too long, for the fat. There was half a cup too much milk, and I still didn't want to toss it out. So I remembered the open box of pastry dough mix that D didn't like much (neither did I). I added it in, along with baking soda (the milk was acidic enough not to use powder), a bit of salt, a bit of brown sugar, and peanut butter morsels that I thought were butterscotch.
Well, they came out delicious. Unfortunately, I think I ate too many of them, considering the pb chips, instead of a better lunch. Bleh. I'm feeling off today, anyway.
