Walk treasures
Aug. 23rd, 2014 05:03 pmIf you check my Google+ you can see a short video of the treasure I acquired on my way to the park. Whee!
I had to go back up the hill to the co-op because I was rung up for $20/lb organic coconut haystacks instead of $4.50/lb Forbidden black rice. This makes the third time I've been overcharged, though this time the initial mistake was mine, assuming that I wrote the bin number incorrectly. Note to self: review the receipt before heading home. Anyway, for that much of a difference, and because I could, I went back.
Since I was back up the hill, I decided to enjoy some of the gorgeous day by chilling out in Volunteer Park. A block before the park, a sign with one of my favorite words -- free -- beckoned me to what I though was a stack of notepads. Not something I needed, but something I thought I could pass along. The items turned out to be some kind of building toy pieces. There was a purse covered in pop can tabs that looked never used, another large shoulder bag, a tall vase, and what I took for a serving platter.
The serving platter turned out to be a posh lazy susan! It's 20" in diameter, wood veneer, in great condition. It was a little awkward to carry. I thought about going directly home, but instead decided to take it to the park with me. ^_^
I think I will put it on top of the other spinning thing when not in use, because it's large for my table. This will be the coolest thing for a party!
