butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (View)
My old friend Tracy is a painter. This morning, while mining back up disks for old photos, I came across a photo I had of one of her paintings; I decided to look her up on the interwebs in case she had finally put up a website. As she has. To my horror, though -- and I do feel upset by it -- she is all over the gossip pages. At least they are old ones. Why? Because she is Tracy Kachtick-Anders, foster mom and mom to a passel of adopted kids, and girlfriend to Rosie O'Donnell. I feel like punching a lot of people in the face. Leave her alone!

Tracy is a soft-spoken, strong woman with a beautiful soul (and beautiful smile). She used to run The Crazy Daisy, an artist co-op, the only place I ever trusted to sell my beadcraft. She is a woman I admire very much. I got out of touch with her after she closed Crazy Daisy. After I stopped being a barista, she couldn't pop in with her troupe when they were out on their walks to visit me.

Anyway, go look at her artwork. It's weird and intense. Some of my favorites are not in any of her galleries, and I have to wonder if they were sold without any photographs taken. She did an amusing Frida Kahlo homage that was a hart's head on a woman's body.
