On the bus this morning, two women were talking about various things medical. I wasn't especially listening but they brought up cancer and some people they had know who went quickly from diagnosis to death. In both cases, the sick people felt bad one day, went in for a checkup, and were gone in a week.
It's the route to UW Medical Center. I caught enough to gather that they were students because they were talking about some kind of patients with something that required mask and eye protection. Then one of them said that that was better than some other situation where "you have to get dressed like Darth Vader". She lamented that touch could not really happen with all that gear.
It made me happy to hear that. That one won't only be a medical professional, she will be a healer.
