The sculpture is called "My Sweet Lord". It's by an artist that uses food as his media. But in NY, the exhibit is getting shut down. As of right now, the Times poll is tied.
Perhaps because I really like chocolate, or perhaps because it's a beautiful, human rendering of Christ, but from the one little picture, I don't think it's an offensive artwork, even that it was to be shown during Holy Week. I would worry if Jesus didn't have genitalia. He's covered for modesty on most big depictions, but does anyone think that He was given that dignity when they were nailing him up? In the sculpture, He looks kind and almost like He's dancing.
Jesus, people really don't have a sense of humor, either. Chocolate bunnies. And "divine" used as a descriptor for chocolate, all the time. Theobroma.
It's not like we would get to eat Him later. Oh wait. If we're Catholic -- we do!
