butterflydreaming: "Cris", in blocks with a blinking cat (to live)

Because one writing project is not enough for me.

So of course the challenge strikes me as a dare, and you know that I cannot back down from dares. I'm in the mood to write something other than my NaNo. I need to do that, actually. It tricks my brain... or maybe my Muse. Actually, I think that it annoys her that I pretend she doesn't exist, and so she starts throwing things at me.

I would have to write something that I haven't done before. My first impression of this challenge was "It looks like I'd have to write action mystery sci-fi S/S." {head in hands} So... other than that... anyone want to give me some suggestions? I'm thinking about what I *have* written.

Genres:
Angst ("Indian Summer, Blackthorn Winter")
Romance ("To Thaw the Frost of Years" counts, "Promise Me", and "CS" of course)
Humor ("Anything Yue Can Do")
Drama ("TC", most stuff)
Horror ("Hunger")
AU ("Misguided Angel")
Songfic ("The Universe is Resting in My Arms", and others)
Self-Insertion (a few -- if you've forgotten them, keep forgetting)
Hentai (uh.)

Characters & Pairings:
Clow/Yue
Sakura/Yue ("Melt" and a very short defend-your-OTP thing) (It's not my OTP... it's complicated.)
Touya/Yue-Yukito ("TTtFoY")
Touya/Tomoyo
Tomoyo/Sakura

and rather than list who I have used --

Characters I haven't used:
Meiling (I avoid her because she's anime canon and I don't have ref material.)
Chiharu
Yamazaki
Rika
Terada-sensei
Akane-chan (though I was trying), and most of the named minor minor characters (for the same reasons as Meiling)
Syaoran (because, somehow, I can't even type his name without errors). (For now, I won't count "Disloyalty")
Madoushi
A few of the Cards (I haven't done POV for any of them, though)
_ _ _

So, yes. I really would be willing to take suggestions. Mystery would be very hard for me, since I can't devote the time to planning it out; sci-fi has the same problem. That's why I've avoided those genres for fanfic. If I was really going to do opposite of my usual first choices, I would be doing fluffy romance. I can do fluffy romance (sure...). Or crack fic, I could do that. I think that I can do action.

I REALLY don't want to do Syaoran/Sakura.

I've been lying in wait for someone to pose such a question so that I can make mention of my current ridiculous CCS craving: Syaoran/Tomoyo. Or, if that is too random, why not Nakuru/Ruby Moon? You write beautiful, deep, Yue and as a huge Ruby Moon fan, I'd really love to see what you bring to her character.

Good luck!

Ruby Moon is going to need more than a 1000 words. But I'll take it under consideration. I rather like her, and so far I've only used her as a foil for Yue.

I might resurrect "Fusenkago" after all (and give it a better title), since that was going to focus on RM w/Sakura, as well as Yue w/Eriol.

I'd really be interested to see how you write her as a character all by herself, without the neccesity of interaction with another character.

In "Fusenkago", do you mean Ruby/Sakura and Yue/Eriol as romantic pairings? That's really original.

*is scared*

Oh -- no, no. It's meant to be pairing-free... but sometimes stories do get a will of their own... . {worried now}

That's good to know, because I stopped and stared at the computer for about five minutes before I could type anything. 'That's really original' is about the only thing I could think of to say.

Your Yuki/Kaho didn't horrify me, but the prospect of Ruby/Sakura and Yue/Eriol definitely did.
