Two hours and $13 have yielded about 15 shirts, 3 scarves (2 silk), a linen handkerchief, a cute purse, a brown lleatherbillfold (unused), a black swim top, a cape with moons and stars, and a large Lancolm make up bag. Almost everything had Goodwill tags; of course, I washed them anyway.
I turned down the many jersey sheets, because making t-shirt yarn is super low on my want-to-do list. Anyone want the 2lbs of black I already made from old tees? Also turned down a lovely duvet cover. Too heavy for today. I only wanted scarves. In fact, I didn't do well in that goal.
Other amazing things i saw at the Goodwill outlet today:
Batman snuggy
Seersucker pink and white bath robe
Bathing suits
Lots of A cup bras, maybe bikini tops, many very cute
A dozen white satin acrylic table napkins
Half a dozen Trader Joes t-shirts, various designs, size medium, that looked new
Pencil skirts in charcoal silk and in black velvet
A beautiful ivory slip, accented with color embroidery in the lace. A man walked by & grabbed it barely looking at it. D:
About 8 beanie caps
A pair of tiny mittens
Today, if you were a small individual who liked thrifted jeans, you could have walked out with one for each day of the year.
I get a lot of satisfaction from the sense of rescue. Last chance. The low cost makes the scavenge possible. I love a deal, but that's not my primary motivation. I would have aid $5-$10 each for the shirts, though, from Two Big Blondes, and called it a deal. So yeah, I win.
The rest of this beautiful, sunny day, I spent doing laundry and reading. Being able to read most of a day off is definitely a win.
Now I'm going to cook up some chickpeas & potatoes. I haven't decided whether to go curry or feta from there. I'll write tonight. I may have some wine. There are half a dozen things I *should* get to, like my taxes, but... nah.
