The Care and Feeding of Caterpillars

I had a four day weekend, and I needed it. It's almost gone and I haven't done everything that I wanted to do, but I did
-> catch up on sleep and entertainment (Friday)
-> celebrate [livejournal.com profile] amheriksha's birthday with dim sum and wind-up, jousting knights (Saturday)
-> correct the travesty of never having seen Harold & Maude all these many years (Sunday)
-> have time to think (today, Monday)

Now I'm sitting in C & P coffee house waiting for the line to finish being served so that I can have another beverage. I scared unnerved the barista earlier, I think -- psyche leakage. Oh, well. People don't have good barriers against chaos. No, not actually chaos, just a bit of detrius. Or: me, with the gate door open.

The most noticeable changes in light and dark happen at the equinox.

I forget to think of myself as a woman, because in my head, I'm always a girl. I could make myself fit into a stable, predictable life, a routine of safety. I could become a grown up. I could do that, but I won't, so this is what I get.

Do you remember...

...the Groovie Goolies? Didn't one of them drive a car that looked a lot like the one from Harold & Maude?
