In this post I proposed:

Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or literary or otherwise. Any "top fives" – it doesn’t matter what, really! Ice cream flavors, cartoons or comics, ideal holiday destinations, goals for the future, celebrity crushes, books I wish would be made into movies, love songs, etc.

[personal profile] varina8 asked, "You are a very successful, experimental cook. What are your top five picks for unexpected/suprising ingredient pairings that work?"

my answers )

1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not. (scarlettina's codicil: You may not ask me directly. Be creative about the comment you leave here.)

2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.

3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.

4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.

5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

From [livejournal.com profile] bhagwanx, 5 Q. The rules say that I must provide five questions, for you to answer in your own journal space, upon your request.

From The Water Room (by Christopher Fowler, who writes magnificently):

"I'll be more careful next time."

"There won't be a next time, Arthur. What will it take to make you act in a responsible manner?"

On the bus I overheard a zen buddhist speaking to another about a hospice where her father had been cared for, in his last days, according to their beliefs. They were discussing the problem of care at hospitals. It wasn't until the end of the conversation that she said that they were buddhist, so I found myself wondering what religion or belief system they followed. Were they atheist? Pagan? Pastafarian? And how would each of any of those deal with impending death?

if you've ever wondered what I think about dying; a hint of my religious views; don't assume you know )

This seemed like an appropriate Q & A, since I'm mostly unplugged for a bit.

From [livejournal.com profile] buhrger:
This is a twist on the Letter Meme. Instead of coming up with ten items for a certain letter, you come up with five song titles for a certain letter and explain why you picked them. If interested then leave a comment. I'll give you a letter. You post this blurb in your journal along with your list.

Aha! Found them: the rest of the questions that I asked for from [livejournal.com profile] buhrger back in... November. Um. If you want to look for the other 3, they are somewhere in January, I think, under the q&a tag. here.

how're plans for the seattle franchise of the curry crawl coming? do you have specific restaurants in mind at this point? do you have specific company in mind at this point?
Indian food, anyone? We haven't managed to make the Seattle Curry Crawl as official as Sushi Night. Nevertheless, with varying company I, at least, have managed to sample a few more places. a list )

I'm game for more. If we could do a dinner in June, who is interested? I've heard that there are some great places in Bellevue, but that's a bit of a jaunt for me, so if you know of somewhere new that we should try that's closer to downtown, let me know. Although if Bellevue eats meant meeting up with any of the PCGs while they are in town, I'd be willing to Flexcar. [livejournal.com profile] adventurat, do you like Indian cuisine?

you're a few months into the new job. if you compare the people you meet at work now to the people you met as a barista, what's the biggest difference? what's the biggest similarity?
The job, after 1 year. )

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions, possibly of a very intimate and creepily personal nature...
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I'll do what I can about generating questions, but I'm not making any promises. I'm just finally getting around to these five that I asked for from [livejournal.com profile] bdkellmer. I know I still also owe one or two to [livejournal.com profile] buhrger... I have to look on my computer at home for the ones I missed.

Meanwhile, on dreaming, beading, and writing... )

I'm going to dim sum with a bunch of strangers (the hosts are two coffee customers) to be with different people socially.
Here's a meme. Each of these statements were true for someone. Is it worse or better to know that someone has felt the same as you?
Look at the following list and: 1) Bold what is true about you. 2) Italicize what you wish was true about you. 3) Add one true thing about you to the end of the list. 4) Tag five LJ friends. What would you add to the end?

I was tagged for this meme a while ago. )

The 5 Question meme is unkillable. When done right, it leads to questions that require contemplation before answering. Here are a couple; the rest will be coming along later.

For those of you who've never seen me pour, here is some latte art. I can do ferns, hearts, and a few other designs that Natalie doesn't show. I miss it. I'm afraid I'm going to lose my barista skills. And speaking of skills...

Chocolate and Sex I smiled at this quotation: "Some might argue, however, that women who like chocolate are simply more sensually attuned."

The picture of the woman wearing nothing but a body stocking covered in chocolate sauce is also amusing.

And now for Five Questions from fellow chocoholic [livejournal.com profile] boldfeather: under the cut )

If you haven't gotten Five Questions from me in the past, you may request five now.

I've gone back and tagged most of the memes and quizes and Q&As up through Spring of this year, and as I was doing so I tripped over a few things.

and other bits of things I found )

I love these questions, posed to me by [livejournal.com profile] varina8! I am so delighted by them that I'm even going to play by the rules. If you would like Five Questions from me, leave a comment and I will come up with some for you. However, if you're going to answer them at all, I don't want wishy-washy or pedantic answers.
